Meeting Information
The Green Isle Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) meets in person on the first Wednesday of each month at City Hall. Meetings are open to the public, and all residents are encouraged to attend and participate. For more information, contact City Hall via email, phone, or in person.
About the Planning and Zoning Commission
The Green Isle Planning and Zoning Commission serves as an advisory body to the City Council, focusing on land use regulations, zoning ordinances, and development planning to ensure orderly growth and community well-being. The commission reviews and makes recommendations on zoning changes, variance requests, subdivision plans, and other land use matters in alignment with the city’s comprehensive plan.
The commission works to balance development needs with environmental, infrastructure, and community concerns, ensuring that Green Isle’s zoning and planning policies promote sustainable and responsible growth. It also provides guidance on updates to city ordinances, helping to maintain a clear and effective regulatory framework for property use and development.
The commission consists of members appointed by the City Council, each serving a four-year term. Members are expected to actively participate in meetings and contribute to planning decisions that shape the future of Green Isle. Building Permits
Any type of structure as defined by the City of Green Isle and the Minnesota Building Code must obtain a land use or building permit. All applications must be submitted to the City Office. The permitting process varies depending on the scope of work.
