The Green Isle Tree Committee (GITC) meets in person on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Meetings are open to the public, and all residents are encouraged to attend and participate. For more information, contact City Hall via email, phone, or in person.

About the Tree Committee

The Green Isle Tree Committee serves as an advisory body to the City Council, providing recommendations on tree management, preservation, and urban forestry initiatives. The committee plays a vital role in ensuring the health, longevity, and beauty of the city’s tree canopy by advising on policies related to tree planting, maintenance, and removal. It also works to raise public awareness about the environmental and aesthetic benefits of trees and promotes best practices for tree care within the community.

The Tree Committee is responsible for reviewing and recommending updates to city ordinances related to trees, advising on the selection and placement of trees in public spaces, and assisting in the development of programs that encourage tree preservation and sustainability. The committee consists of members appointed by the City Council, each serving a one-year term.
