Crews will begin work on the Hwy 212 J-turn at Hwy 5/25/Co. Rd. 131 in Young America Township at 7 a.m. Wed, Aug. 12. Hwy 212 access to and from Hwy 5/25/Co. Rd. 131 will be limited through early October.
From Wed, Aug. 12 to mid-September crews will work on the south side of the intersection, resulting in the following traffic impacts:
Westbound and eastbound Hwy 212 to southbound Hwy 5/25 detour: Hwy 212 to southbound Co. Rd. 1 to eastbound Co. Rd. 10/50 to Hwy 5/25
Northbound Hwy 5/25 to eastbound Hwy 212 to Wells Ave. J-turn to westbound Hwy 212
Northbound Hwy 5/25 (across Hwy 212) to Co. Rd. 131 detour: Eastbound Hwy 212 to Wells Ave. J-turn to westbound Hwy 212 to Co. Rd. 131
Southbound Co. Rd. 131 (across Hwy 212) to Hwy 5/25 detour: Westbound Hwy 212 to southbound Co. Rd. 1 to eastbound Co. Rd. 10/50 to Hwy 5/25
From mid-September through early October, crews will work on the median of Hwy 212 and Hwy 5/25/Co. Rd. 131, which will also result in traffic impacts and detours.
Crews will complete the J-turns at the Wells Ave. and Railroad St. intersections by 7 a.m. Wed, Aug. 12. Work continues at the Co. Rd. 31 J-turn through mid-September.
Traffic will remain reduced to one lane in each direction throughout the project area, between Hwy 5/25/Co. Rd. 131 in Young America Township and Hwy 5/25/Reform St. in Norwood Young America.

More about this projectCrews are working to improve about 2.5 miles of Hwy 212 by building J-turns at Hwy 5/25/Co. Rd. 131, Wells Ave., Co. Rd. 31 and West Railroad St. Workers will also install cable median barriers.
The J-turns will help reduce “T-bone” crashes and the cable median barriers will help reduce cross-median crashes.
The project is planned to be completed in fall 2026.
