We will be hosting our 8th annual Cancer Cruise on Saturday, May 18th. Aaron Scharpe from Green Isle was selected by our Board of Directors as the 2019 Cancer Cruise recipient. Aaron was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2011 and received a kidney transplant from his aunt. In 2015, he was diagnosed with melanoma and underwent surgery and radiation. The anti-rejection medication he was taking for the kidney transplant was reduced, and oral immunotherapy was started. In 2018, Aaron again had surgery to remove a lump on his back, as well as malignant tumors on his spine. The anti-rejection medications he had been taking since his kidney transplant had to be stopped. Aaron lost his battle on Monday, February 25th, but that isn’t going to stop us. Aaron still has still has medical expenses, and as they say in show business, “The show must go on!”
Aaron chose the color of the shirts this year, they will be a sapphire blue, the black logo that is shown on all of the attachments. Vehicle pre-registration is not required, and you do NOT need a classic car to come on the cruise with us, bring your daily driver…we don’t discriminate
If you are a business and are interested in sponsoring our event (sponsors are listed on the backs of our T-shirts), please let me know. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact myself, or any of our Board members: RaNae Buck, Jen Carpenter, Jamie Grams-Petzel, Kurt Menk, Anita Quast, and Brittney St. John. Have a great week!
